Review: Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation

Broadripple Is Burning by Margot & the Nuclear So and So's on Grooveshark
 photo IMG_1976-001_zps3f1fdbc2.jpg

I have been a fan of Revlon foundations for many years now!! When I was younger I tried various foundations from Covergirl and Maybelline which I absolutely hated. Maybelline foundations make me break out horribly and I could never find a good colour match in Covergirl since all of their foundations leaned a bit more on the pinky side. I remember I used to use the Revlon foundation which you could turn to mix different shades together which I loved for years since I didn't have to worry about matching my colour. After I got more into makeup I tried both the Revlon Colourstay and Revlon Photoready foundations which are both awesome in my opinion. I have used Revlon Photoready for a long time I think I am on my fourth bottle now so when Revlon came out with the Nearly Naked Foundation I was really excited to try it. I didn't buy it immediately since I had just bought a new bottle of Photoready foundation (of course that would happen right) but a couple of weeks ago I was in Shoppers Drugmart and they had both the foundation and pressed powder together as a deal for about fifteen dollars. I had been hunting for a new powder after I realized the one I had been using for about five months was causing a lot of my breakouts and clogged pores, I am definitely planning on doing a massive powder review post on all of the ones I have. So I couldn't resist getting the deal and I am doing the review on the foundation first before the powder since I have used it more.

I really love this foundation it has great coverage which is always something I need since I have a bunch of redness from old acne marks. I would say it is about medium coverage, it definitely offers as much as the Photoready foundation which is one of the things I loved about it but not as much as Colourstay. I don't find the consistency to be really watery although I read alot of reviews before I bought it from people saying that they did, I actually think it is a bit thicker than Revlon Photoready and it doesn't run down my hand before I get a chance to apply. To put it on I just use one of my Elf flat top powder brushes which are awesome for applying on foundation. So far it hasn't broke me out and I have used it for over a couples weeks now which is good sign!! Overall I would definitely recommend it since it is one of the best bargains in the drugstore for foundation at only $10 and offers pretty damn good coverage, it just makes my skin look awesome. The colour selection is very warm/yellow toned which is the only draw back if you are more on the cool toned side. If anyone else has used it tell me what you thought and I hope you all have a great week!!

Recent Makeup Haul!!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Booster Bronzer, Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner, Beauty Treats BB Cream: Vanilla, Wet N Wild Greed Palette, Jordana Single Eyeshadow: Heart of Gold, Wet N Wild Matte Lipstick: Pinkerbell, Mauve Outta Here, Nyx Round Lipstick: Chic, Tea Rose, Jordana Great Lash Mascara, L.A Colours Jumbo Eye Pencil

Hey everybody!!! I took these photos of some makeup I had purchased a couple of weeks ago but I had never gotten around to uploading them yet. Most of this is from a Beauty Joint order and the Physicians Formula stuff I got off of Well.ca since they had there products majorly on sale, that brand in Canada is just ridiculously expensive like twenty dollars for a bronzer!

Physicians Formula Shimmer Booster Bronzer, Physicians Formula Gel Eyeliner

I had used up my last gel eyeliner so these intrigued me since you get three different colours in one package, they all stack together which is kind of a interesting marketing scheme. After using these for a couple of weeks I don't know if I would repurchase them. The blue colour is gorgeous but it takes a couple of coats to get a deep colour and I don't find the black to be super black. Its ok for day time but I definitely prefer my Essence gel eyeliner I had before which was amazing. Now the bronzer was my fault I ordered the wrong one so when I got this weird little container that has a brush attached to the top I was quite annoyed with myself. The actual bronzer is great to contour with though, it is super pigmented and isn't ridiculously sparkly on the face although it looks that way in the pan.

 photo IMG_1878_zps6cae568c.jpg

All four of these lipsticks are awesome and very pigmented. I plan on doing a couple of lipstick brand posts like Nyx, Wet n Wild and Revlon and swatch everything on my lips to see the actual colours!!

I dont think I would recommend this palette either now that I have used it a couple of times. I know these are discontinued but you can still get the six pan Wet N Wild Palettes online. I have the Vanity palette and its awesome so this definitely disappointed me. I bought this mainly for the matte side since I didn't have a non shimmery pink shade. All three of the matte shades are super pigmented but the pink/peach comes out a bit weird on my skin ton and I kind of think it looks like it gives me pink eye which is so NOT cute. The shimmery side was pretty disappointed since the top two colours have almost no colour payoff and only the bottom black one is decent. I can definitely use a couple of the shades it but I wouldn't buy it again if I had the chance.

Jordana Single Eyeshadow: Heart of Gold

I hadn't tried any Jordana eyeshadows before but this definitely sold me on them. I think I payed about $2 for this single gold shade and its awesome, I think I will definitely pick up some more next time I order makeup online.

Jordana Great Lash Mascara (top), L.A Colours Jumbo Eye Pencil

I havent had a chance to try out either of these products yet!! I have been trying to use up the many mascaras I have on the go before I open up the Jordana one but I am very excited to try it out. After St. Pattys day I have been really into green and this eye pencil looks like it will be such a gorgeous base for a smokey eye look. At the moment I am in the library taking a break from studying for finals!! I have two tomorrow so wish me luck and I hope everyone has a good day :).

Hello everyone!!! Now thats its got a bit warmer out and I found a place to take photos outside I have been SO much more motivated to take outfit photos and just blog in general. This is a picture of what I wore most days during fall/winter. I got this coat back in October and it has been one of favourites since then. I am pretty sure I got it for about $20 off or something like that, I just love the brown camel colour it is. My sister gave me this scarf for christmas and I have worn it almost constantly since then, I absolutely love animal print. Classes are completely done now and I have a entire week off before my exams start so my plan is to study and take lots of blog photos the next few days. I hope you all had a good weekend!!

Review: Wet N WIld Comfort Zone Eye Shadow Palette

Let Your Heart Hold Fast by Fort Atlantic on Grooveshark
 photo IMG_1842-001_zps539c7986.jpg

Wet N Wild Comfort Zone Palette: $5

Ohmygoodness I am so in love with this palette right now, it is definitely my favourite makeup item at the moment. The colours are beautiful (they look the exact same on the lid as they do in pan!!), very pigmented  and blend super well together. They last all day without creasing when I wear a primer underneath (just the elf $1 primer). I went home for easter weekend and I only brought this palette with me for the whole weekend which was shocking since I always pack way way too many clothes and makeup for short periods of time, what can I say I like having choices!! But I used this for both day time looks at my easter celebrations and going out at night to a dance. I love the right side of the palette the best along with the top left brow-bone colour which I think is a bit to dark for a highlight shade but is a amazing lid colour. The only two colours I cant really see myself using to much are the second and fourth colours on the left side. I think I am going to google tutorials using that side of the palette in order to try something a little different. Anyways I would definitely recommend it to anyone who since the price and quality is great, I am such a huge Wet N Wild fan!! Tomorrow I have my last two classes of first year at university and then there are just exams. I cannot believe how fast this year went it's crazy!!! I hope everyone is having a great week :).

Ok I lied my next post was not a makeup review, oopsies!!! My boyfriend has been offering to take outfit photos for me for a long time now, so I am excited to announce the return of nice outdoor photos!!!!! He cut off my head and my feet in most of the photos so we have a few kinks to work out just yet but I love them so much more then my indoor pictures. I wore this outfit to class yesterday because it was so freaking comfy. I cant for the life of me remember how much I payed for this sweater but it was on sale so it couldn't have been to much. It is my new favourite, its sooooooo soft and cozy. School is almost at a end thanks goodness, I am handing in my last essay today and then there are just exams in April!! I hope everyone is having a good day and thanks again for all of the lovely comments :).

March/Current Makeup Favourites!!

Farewell to the Fairground by White Lies on Grooveshark
 photo IMG_1785_zpsa7dd9b30.jpg

Here is a new type of post for me. I am absolutely obsessed with watching makeup videos on youtube and I love their monthly favourite videos since you get to discover new products with positive reviews!! These are some of the products I have been using lately that are definitely my favourites at the moment. I have been ridiculously sick all week so I didn't feel like taking any photos of myself so I hope everyone enjoys this post!!

 photo IMG_1790-1_zps3774e754.jpg

Wet N Wild 8 Pan Palette- Comfort Zone

I am DEFINITELY going to review this soon, quite possibly in my next post with in depth photos because this palette is freaking awesome. I had seen so so many reviews on youtube and blogs about this and I could not for the life of me find it in stores anywhere. I was going to resort to buying it online when I looked in the Canadian Superstore near me and they had revamped their makeup section so I finally got my hands on it. I was super excited and as a bonus I payed only $4 for it which was about half the price of the palette online. I have been wearing it everyday and the colours are gorgeous!!

Physicians Formula Mineral Face Powder- Translucent Light

Now that I think about it I am definitely going to do a review on this powder as well. I bought this at a Zellers clearout sale where everything was 50% off so I only payed $10. Physicians Formula is pretty darn expensive in Canada, I am talking like twenty bucks for a powder. To me that is getting into the realm of high end makeup and I might as well spend the extra 5-10 dollars and get a Mac powder. But I bought this on sale and one of the makeup gurus I watch on Youtube RheaEstelle always raves about this product. I absolutely love this powder now, I have a considerable amount of redness from acne scars etc. and this does a great job of covering that. I often wear this powder just with my Hard Candy Glamoflage concealer (review here) instead of liquid foundation :).

Elf Mist And Set Spray

I got this a couple of months ago and it has definitely reached almost holy grail status with me. I like to use it everyday (if I can remember) since it sets my makeup so well but I absolutely always use it before going out at night. It does a great job of keeping everything in place and takes away any powdery look to my face. Some added bonus's are its $3 on the Elf website (score!) and it doesn't bother my hyper sensitive allergies so I will use this as long as I can get ahold of it.

Nyx Round Lipstick- Strawberry Milk/ Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stain- Charm

I have had the Nyx Strawberry lipstick for over a year after I bought it on eBay. Much to my huge disappointment I did not like the colour whatsoever since it was so pale on it made me look ill even at my lightest in the winter. I was playing around with my lipsticks the other day since I was thinking about doing a post on products I didn't like and this was at the top of my list but I started using it as a base for other lipsticks and it looked awesome!! The Nyx round lipsticks are very creamy so they were easy to mix with other colours. This duo is my personal favourite at the moment and I have been wearing it constantly.

EcoTools Bronzer Brush

This is absolutely my favourite brush at the moment, it so so soft. I use it to bronze up my face and set my foundation/concealer with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I actually bought this on Ebay for about $5 from Hong Kong. I have alway wanted to try the Ecotools brushes but in stores here they are over ten bucks so I figured I would try to get one a bit cheaper. It came super fast in the mail but it was a little crunched in the package, so I washed it and it reformed nicely. I am really happy with the brush so I would recommend buying brushes online like that!! I need to catch up on blog comments now that I am feeling a bit better and I hope everyone is has a great day!!

So I tried to do face of the night (FOTN) pictures over the weekend but I failed miserably at getting photos of how I did my eyeshadow so next time I think I am going to get my boyfriend to take those. But I bought this dark emerald green eyeliner from Essence which I used on the lower lash line and it looked so cool!!! Also it is seriously long lasting, I could not get the swatch of it off of my hand with just water I had to use some makeup remover. I have used the black and brown retractable eyeliners before and they were great plus they are only about $3 at Shoppers Drugmart in Canada. I never use colour on my eyes but I think I might order one of the palettes from Bh Cosmetics or Coastal Scents so I can when I am feeling more adventurous. I did this makeup before we went to hangout with my friends at residence and I did have a green shirt on in order to be kindof festive for St. Paddys Day although I took this photo before I changed into that. I hope everyone is having a great day, I have a wicked sinus cold after the weekend so cross your fingers that clears up soon!!
